Alienware Area51 m5500

This is one of those laptops that make you wonder what is really going on. The Alienware M5500 allows for switching of video cards on your laptop. This means that you can be playing a game on your laptop and then decide that you want some longer battery life and reboot into the onboard intel graphics card.

The Alienware M5500 says screw worrying about efficiency because you can have the best of both worlds with one simple reboot. This laptop probably is better for the type of person that does not mind reboots. My laptop has been on for 25 days and it is still ticking just fine.

We will see how many people buy this Alienware M5500 or pass it up for a different model. I personally do not see much use in this feature within a laptop. Maybe if it supported hot switching after it is already booted or some super sweet feature like that.
